Smileys

by ??

I think smileys are very helpful, because when you don't know what you should write, you can make one of the smileys. Smileys also make more emotions. Smileys are often used in emails, chats and boards. On September 1982, Scott Fahlmann (now he is a Scientist in the School of Computer Science at Carnegie Mellon University) invented the smileys. Smileys make the text more funny and personally. The program PLATO IV was the first program that use smileys. Here is an example:

If you want to express your feelings but you can not find the right words for it, it would be a good idea to use smileys. You can use them to show that you are sad or happy, angry or
confused. By using smileys you can easily remark sarcasm or express that you made a joke, while other smileys show that you are serious with something. Smileys are a very convenient way to tell what you are thinking. There are smileys that demonstrate that you are sceptical and others that point out that you are not convinced with something.
